Custom and private obedience lessons
If for some reason you can not take one of my classes with your dog,
but would still like to work on his obedience, or are interested in
teaching your dog a specific or specialized skill, I do offer private
lessons.  I recommend trying to enroll in a class, as there is a great
benefit to your dog learning in the distractions of the other dogs (life
is full of distractions!)   My fee for private lessons at your home is
$35/hour.  If this sounds like something you are interested in,
please contact me at (614) 578-7931
Teddy
CT Teddy B, U-UD, CGC,
RTD
Teddy's mom met me at an
event and told me that she
was 'untrainable' and that
she would require a shock
collar.  Teddy was the #1
Mixed Breed Open dog in
the country for 2008.  She
was in the top 5 Open Dogs
from 2003-09, and Utility
Dogs in '07.  She also spent
many years as a Therapy
Dog at Children's Hospital...
all without force... and
definitely NOT a shock
collar.
Murphy
Murphy Basinger, RN,
CD, CGC, RTD
If you know anything about
Beagles, you could imagine
what dedication it would
take to have your Beagle
earn his CD!
I teach the basic obedience commands,
AKC's Canine Good Citizen test.  I do not
use choke collars, pinch collars, shock
collars or heavy corrections.  You are
there to TEACH your dog, not force him!
ALL dogs can learn without the use of
pain as a motivator.

You will learn to teach your dog:
  • Sit
  • Down
  • Stay
  • Come
  • Stand
  • Heel
  • Leave It
You will also get lots of tips for behavior
modification

Fritz
JR's on the Fritz, CD
Fritz was found in a local
shelter, his story said
something about failing
police dog training.  My
husband, Roger, started
talking to him in German,
and Fritz LOVED it.  We
don't own Fritz, we just love
him as if he is our own.
Roger went on to put a CD
on him.
Monty
Montgomerie Lyle Meckler, CD, CGC
Monty's mom contacted me a few weeks
after Monty saw a squirrel and pulled her
down... resulting in her needing knee
surgery. She had been told by trainers that
she is not hard enough on him, that she
needs to be more forceful.  I told her she
needs to train him.  Monty has since earned
his CD, CGC, and is a Therapy Dog... but
one of his greatest accomplishments is his
AMAZING Freestyle Dancing!
Bosco
Bosco, RN, CD
Bosco's mom contacted me because he was
showing signs of aggression towards people.
After LOTS of behavior modification, and
training, his mom realized that he could do
anything with him.  She started out in Rally,
where no one would actually touch him.  After
that, he earned his CD, where the judge
needed to touch him for the Stand for Exam
exercise!!!!
Gabi
Gabi started out in my Basic
Beginners Obedience class.
She and her mom loved it
so much, they were
HOOKED.  Gabi went on to
earn her
U-CD, and is now
training to for her CDX.
Zeus
Schmidt's-GC Catch A
Falling Star at LeMac,
CD, OA, OAJ

Zeus' mom had competed
in obedience with her other
boxer, but came to me
saying that she wanted to
do this one right!  She felt
that her Heel was lacking
and wanted Zeus to fully
understand the exercise but
at the same time, use
positive training and a flat
buckle collar (no choke
chains!).  WELL, Zeus got
his CD with a third place
and a score of 194!!!! (out of
200) WOW.  Just qualifying
with a Boxer is something to
be proud of, but to place
and get in the 190's-
AMAZING!!!  Zeus' mom is
so very happy with her boy...
and I am sure he is pretty
happy with her!!!
