Things to know before you schedule your appointment.
Fees:
$120 per hour for Zoom appointments
$140 per hour for in-home appointments (an additional travel fee is required for “non-local” in-person appointments.
Please note the rates are per hour. Fees are charged in 15-minute increments.
Appointments are booked for 90 minutes but the actual length may vary.
The fee is collected at the end of the appointment since the amount depends on the actual length of the appointment.
Payment methods: Zelle, Check (details will be provided at the end of the appointment).
You can send videos if you would like Elissa to view them before your appointment. Do not put anyone (dog or human) in harm’s way to get the video!
You are encouraged to take notes during the appointment but please do not record it.
About Zoom Appointments.
Since some are hesitant to try a Zoom appointment, individuals who did Zoom appointments were surveyed to get feedback and comments to share. Two especially insightful comments:
"It was clear Elissa has worked with enough dogs (and humans) that she could ask questions to properly understand our situation."
"We felt that we could focus on discussing the situation with Elissa without the added distraction and worry of supporting our dog at the same time. This allowed us to be fully engaged in the management techniques that were shared."
Several people also cited the lower fee for a Zoom appointment and no travel fee for those who are not in the location area.
Elissa says that Zoom appointments tend to be shorter (or cover more topics!) since time is not spent managing the dog.
About In-Home Appointments.
Prepare for Elissa to come to your home for an in-home appointment as you would for anyone entering your home. If you normally put your dog in a crate or another room before opening the door to a guest, do the same for your appointment.
Local appointments. For the purpose of scheduling, you are “local” if your address is in Columbus or the surrounding areas in Franklin County (i.e. Bexley, Dublin, Hilliard, Gahanna, New Albany, Worthington), as well as Powell and Westerville.

Non-local appointments. If you do not live in the above-defined “Local” area but would like an in-home appointment, you must complete and submit the travel request form here: [TRAVEL] We will work to accommodate your request.
All travel appointments incur a travel fee in addition to the hourly rate.
